Chemfinder
By working from a single master list of chemical compounds, the ChemFinder
WebServer lets you find chemical information faster and better than traditional
search engines (such as Yahoo and Alta Vista). In generating this database, we
have also taken pains to identify and correct the obvious errors (like 'mehtyl',
as well as invalid CAS RNs) that account for 3-5% of of all chemical information
on the WWW. Because the ChemFinder WebServer is a chemical database, it can also
provide information that a general-purpose WWW index cannot, including physical
property data and 2D chemical structures. This information is somewhat sparse at
the moment, but is very good for the several thousand most-common compounds. As
an almost-incidental side benefit, the list
of sites indexed is also the largest single list of chemical information
sites (by at least double the size of the next-largest) that we are aware of.
ECDIN - Environmental Chemicals Data and Information Network (p.t. ikke
tilgængelig)
Developed by the Environmental Research Programme of the Commission of the
European Communities, ECDIN brings together a wide variety of data about
chemicals being produced in amounts that may have environmental significance.
ECDIN includes data and regulatory information from the US, Canada, Eastern and
Western Europe, and the Pacific Rim.
NCI's
CancerNet Cancer Information
CANCERLIT® is a bibliographic database that contains more than 1.3 million
citations and abstracts from over 4,000 different sources including biomedical
journals, proceedings, books, reports, and doctoral theses. Produced by the
National Cancer Institute's International Cancer Information Center, CANCERLIT
has been in existence for more than twenty year and contains references to the
vast realm of cancer literature published from 1963 to the present. CANCERLIT is
updated with more than 8,000 records every month
PubMed®
PubMed, available via the NCBI Entrez
retrieval system, was developed by the National
Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National
Library of Medicine (NLM), located at the National
Institutes of Health (NIH). Entrez is the text based search and
retrieval system used at NCBI for all major databases including PubMed,
Nucleotide, and Protein Sequences, Protein Structures, Complete Genomes,
Taxonomy, OMIM and many others. Subsequently, a linking feature LinkOut,
was added to provide access to full-text articles at journal web sites, and
other related web resources. Publishers participating in PubMed electronically
submit their citations to NCBI prior to or at the time of publication. MEDLINE
is the NLM's premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine,
nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the
preclinical sciences. MEDLINE contains bibliographic citations and author
abstracts from more than 4,600 biomedical journals published in the United
States and 70 other countries. The file contains over 11 million citations
dating back to the mid-1960's.
Documention is found in the PubMed
Help file including information on MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) and the
Cubby. TOXLINE Core covers much of the standard journal literature in
toxicology. It is a separately searchable subset of the much larger MEDLINE®
database of biomedical literature and is accessible through the PubMed®
system by selecting "toxicology" as a subset Limit [vælg: Limits--Subsets--Toxicology]. TOXLINE Core takes
advantage of PubMed's powerful search and retrieval engine to offer features
such as MeSH® term selection, saving search queries via Cubby, and linking out.
A search link to TOXLINE Core is also available from the TOXLINE
interface on TOXNET®
Toxicology Data Network TOXNET®

Chemical Abstract CAS
Since 1907, CAS has indexed and summarized chemistry-related articles from more
than 40,000 scientific journals, in addition to patents, conference proceedings
and other documents pertinent to chemistry, life sciences and many other fields
including toxicology.
In total, abstracts for more than 21 million documents are accessible online
through CAS. Chemical Abstracts/SciFinder Scholar provides the most accurate
and comprehensive chemical and related scientific information. CAS toxicology
section 4 includes the toxic effects of chemicals, venoms, and toxins on plants,
nonmammals, and mammals, including subcellular studies. Coverage includes actual
or potential environmental pollutants, forensic and medicolegal studies,
toxicological analysis, agrochemical toxicity in nontarget organisms, ethanol
biological effects, tobacco toxicity, antidotes, and oxygen toxicity. Structure
elucidation of proteinaceous toxins and proteinaceous venom components is also
covered. Toxin studies emphasizing microbial infections or the physiology of the
toxins appear in the section appropriate to the investigated organism. Drug,
hormone, agrochemical (involving target organisms), food, and cosmetic toxicity
are covered in Sections 1, 2, 5, 17, and 62, respectively. Toxic substances used
as investigatory tools are covered in the section appropriate to the organism or
process under study.

Dictionary of Substances and their Effects (DOSE)
The Dictionary of Substances and their Effects (DOSE) i a vast collection of vital information about approximately 4,100 chemicals
and their impact on the environment. Detailed information about the toxicity of
the chemicals, physical properties and regulatory requirements is also
presented. All information is presented with complete references detailed at the
end of each file. These chemicals have been selected from

UK's Red List, priority pollutant lists from the USA and Canada, and the
pollutant list from Germany. Other chemicals which are reported to have adverse
effects on the environment are also covered.
